Operating Room Assistant (Orderly) – Overview
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Operating Room Assistant/orderly performs a variety of activities such as scheduling, transporting patients, cleaning functions, assisting with room turnover, maintaining and stocking supplies, collecting specimens, running errands, and providing work direction and training to other staff assigned to sterile processing. Must be detail oriented and organized with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with scheduling and transportation of patients; clean and prepare operating rooms; assist with room turnover; maintain and stock supplies; collect specimens; run errands; provide work direction and training to other staff.
Required Qualifications
National Provider BLS – American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare experience
Housekeeping experience
