Overview
OFFICE OF THE CHAPTER 13 BANKRUPTCY TRUSTEE – CLEVELAND
Responsibilities
Review, evaluate, research and analyze petitions, plans, motions, and objections filed in the bankruptcy court system
Interpret court orders and track hearings, deadlines and filing requirements
Retrieve case information and perform electronic filing through the CM/ECF system
Ability to perform some legal research, including verifying case citations and legal references
Assist in the preparation of pleadings and other legal documents
Perform financial calculations related to case administration
Collaborate with attorneys and staff on workflow
Maintain accurate records using case management software
Ability to work independently to solve problems
Qualifications
Prior litigation experience preferred, including discovery and appeals
Experience in consumer bankruptcy, preferred
Knowledge of federal laws, rules and bankruptcy procedures
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively
Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Adobe
Experience with case management software system
Must be able to pass a background check
Education/Experience
Prefer a four-year degree
Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
