Psychiatric Technician (Safety).
Salary ranges: $5,843.00–$6,797.00 (S), $6,040.00–$7,203.00 (T), $6,261.00–$7,466.00 (U). New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Work Location: Los Angeles County. Telework: In Office. Work Hours: 12‑hour shifts. Multiple positions available.
Job Description
Metropolitan State Hospital (DSH‑Metropolitan) in Norwalk is hiring Psychiatric Technician (Safety) – Medication Room. The incumbent will work under general supervision. In addition to custodial responsibilities, the Technician will facilitate rehabilitation, maintain order and supervise conduct, protect safety, provide basic behavioral psychiatric nursing care to mentally disordered offenders, and participate in the overall treatment program.
Requirements
Valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE (or within four months of completing accredited curriculum; must secure license before appointment).
Permanent civil service status, or be on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility; if not, must take exam.
Meet all eligibility requirements stated in the announcement before taking the exam.
