We are seeking a highly motivated
Tax Associate or Senior Tax Associate
to support the tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities for our financial service client. This role is ideal for a professional with
2+ years of Tax accounting experience
serving financial services clients who is looking to broaden their exposure within a fund environment.
The position works cross-functionally with accounting, investment, and external advisors to ensure accurate investor reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective tax-related communication.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Tax Compliance & Reporting
Coordinate with external tax advisors to support federal, state, local, and select international tax filings for investment fund entities
Oversee the tax return preparation process in partnership with third-party administrators and outside accounting firms
Review partnership income allocations and supporting workpapers for accuracy and consistency
Assist in the preparation and review of investor tax reporting, including Schedule K-1s and applicable information returns
Ensure tax reporting deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory deadlines
Investor & Stakeholder Support
Address inbound investor inquiries related to fund tax matters, estimates, and reporting positions
Draft written responses and tax-related explanations for limited partners and co-investors
Prepare tax-focused communications and supporting materials for internal and external audiences
Collaboration with Accounting & Cash Management
Partner with fund accounting teams to gather financial data required for tax reporting and compliance
Support tax-related cash planning activities, including estimates, payments, and withholding requirements
Assist with state-level tax matters, including analysis of withholding and filing obligations
Investment & Advisory Support
Work alongside the investment team to evaluate tax considerations associated with new investment structures
Document tax positions, technical conclusions, and compliance matters for specific investments
Monitor changes in federal and state tax regulations and assess potential impacts to funds and investors
Support special projects, research requests, and ad-hoc analyses as needed
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on financial services, asset management, or investment funds
Strong understanding of partnership taxation concepts
Practical experience working with external clients and service providers
Preferred
CPA license or active progress toward certification is a plus
Prior exposure to private equity, hedge funds, or alternative investment structures
Experience with fund administrators and investor reporting cycles
