Responsibilities
Monitor and evaluate patient care performance through data collection, including interviews, to conduct audits and reviews that allow timely analysis for areas needing improvement, specific to nursing regulations and standards.
Analyze resident care data through clinical documentation, external quality measures and concerns from staff and residents to identify trends; conduct comprehensive medical record audits to assess accuracy and adherence to policies, practices, and standards of care; develop and validate teaching plans in collaboration with Education.
Investigate state and nursing complaints, adverse events, and self‑reports for documentation compliance; conduct root‑cause analysis with stakeholders, implement corrective actions, and use the Plan‑Check‑Do‑Act cycle for QAPI.
Work closely with health‑care teams to establish best practices; collaborate with Education to design and implement staff training and monitoring processes that assess training success and identify continuous improvement areas.
Assist in developing and reviewing resident care policies and procedures to align with quality standards; develop monitoring processes to measure policy compliance and pinpoint improvement opportunities.
Prepare and present reports on quality‑improvement initiatives, tracking processes, and outcomes to residents and leadership.
Collaborate with nursing departments to monitor action plans and identify strengths/weaknesses; develop robust action plans emphasizing continuous improvement.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and committees reviewing opportunities for QAPI interventions.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse license in the State of Maryland
3+ years in long‑term care/skilled nursing environments
Familiarity with healthcare regulations and survey processes
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Certification in quality assurance or quality management (Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus
Proficiency in using Point Click Care and related online platforms
Compensation
USD $38.05‑$57.05 per hour.
