Overview
The Administrative Assistant III supports all aspects of the capital equipment acquisition process for Operative Services across the WV, WW, and SM campuses. Responsibilities include gathering product requirements, strategic sourcing of goods and services, acquisition of capital equipment, and contracting for products and professional services.
In a team environment, the incumbent uses strong communication and problem‑solving skills to maximize customer satisfaction, adapts to changing priorities, and manages a high volume of time‑sensitive tasks to meet departmental goals.
Additional duties involve analyzing purchasing options, conducting in‑depth evaluations of variable factors, obtaining departmental purchase orders, and performing other administrative functions as needed.
Responsibilities
Support all aspects of the capital equipment acquisition process for Operative Services across the WV, WW, and SM campuses.
Assist units with gathering product requirements, strategic sourcing of goods and services, acquisition of capital equipment, and contracting for products and professional services.
Analyze purchasing options, including in‑depth evaluation of variable factors.
Obtain departmental purchase orders and support other administrative functions as required.
Work within an interdependent team environment, using strong communication and problem‑solving skills, effective time management, and adaptability to meet departmental goals.
Qualifications
Outstanding customer service skills.
Familiarity with submitting invoices.
Excellent communication skills, both by phone and in writing.
Experience organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives.
Familiarity with Lawson or Workday system.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and establish cooperative working relationships with administrators, physicians, peers, and the public.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex problems.
Experience with varied computer software and hardware, including word processing, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
