Position: Maintenance Technician
Maryville, MO — Full‑Time, Rotating Shifts, Overtime as needed
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports both routine and emergency maintenance activities across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and process systems within the facility.
This position requires hands‑on work in a dynamic industrial environment and a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Apply basic electrical and electronic principles in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of plant systems
Troubleshoot and maintain plant electrical and electronic equipment to a competent level including operator interfaces, PLCs, process controllers, power supplies, etc.
Make minor repairs on general plant machinery such as fans, blowers, conveyors, belts, mechanical, and screw conveyors
Troubleshoot, calibrate, and program VFDs and PLC systems
Install and maintain switch gears, control wiring and components, over‑current and overload protection for plant motors including three‑phase systems
Read, update, and build electrical schematics and documentation
Adjust various types of devices and control systems
Having previously installed, knowledge of, troubleshooting and repaired electrical systems, including 480 V and below, and control voltage/systems
Understands facility systems, and component functions and relationships, and is competent in their troubleshooting and repair
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
2 or more years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
Experience with electrical systems including 480 V three‑phase systems
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in rotating equipment and hydraulic systems
Basic understanding of PLCs, controls, and instrumentation preferred
Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Able to use and edit programs in Allen Bradley Suit: ControlLogix, GuardPLC, Softlogix, MicroLogix, SLC500, CompactLogix, Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk
Able to write new programs and install and diagnose problems during startup phase
Able to collaborate well with production line workers and supervisors, with a strong customer‑service mindset
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and climbing
Ability to work in hot and cold environments for extended periods
Ability to work in environments with dust, chemicals, and industrial exposures
Must be able to perform duties while wearing required personal protective equipment
Working Conditions
This role operates within an active chemical recycling plant environment. Exposure to carbon black, hydrocarbon oils, and vapor streams is expected. Work may include indoor and outdoor conditions, elevated equipment access, and interaction with industrial processing systems.
