Summary
The Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in protecting product quality and regulatory compliance by maintaining a clean, compliant manufacturing environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and accountability for keeping GMP‑critical areas audit‑ready. The role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on quality, safety, and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for performing scheduled GMP sanitation activities (daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic) across manufacturing, warehouse, and support areas to prevent contamination.
Cleans and sanitizes production areas, equipment surfaces, floors, walls, ceilings, and overhead infrastructure in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintains assigned GMP‑critical areas in a constant state of audit readiness.
Accurately completes GMP sanitation logs, checklists, and documentation subject to Quality and regulatory review.
Serves as the primary GMP sanitation owner for the assigned shift, ensuring continuous coverage and compliance.
Conducts routine and high‑detail facility cleaning, including waste removal, restrooms, common areas, and fixed equipment.
Monitors, inventories, and inspects GMP sanitation supplies; removes and reports non‑conforming materials.
Collaborates with other departments as needed to maintain safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, medical device, food, or similar) strongly preferred.
Industrial or GMP sanitation experience preferred.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, and temperature variations.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, stooping, and repetitive motions.
Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all OSHA and facility safety standards.
