We are seeking an experienced

Concrete Finisher

to join our team in

Sacramento, CA . In this role you will be responsible for the placement, forming, finishing, and repair of concrete and asphalt surfaces on construction projects. This role performs hands‑on field work including form setting, surface finishing, site preparation, and general labor tasks while supporting construction crews and equipment operators. The Concrete Finisher plays an important role in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

The Role

Set forms and perform concrete finishing work including curbs, structural concrete, and surface finishing

Assist with various aspects of concrete, paving, and asphalt work on construction projects

Trim pavement edges and assist with job site cleanup and site preparation

Operate jackhammers, drills, and other power tools to break up concrete and pavement as needed

Dump, shovel, sweep, level, rake, roll, and inspect asphalt and concrete surfaces

Ensure all hand tools and equipment are clean and properly maintained

Signal equipment operators to facilitate proper alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials

Perform a variety of manual labor tasks including trenching, site preparation, conduit placement, and general construction support using standard hand tools

Assist construction crews with material movement, set‑up, and routine maintenance tasks as directed

Support aerial and underground crews as trained, including assisting with fiber or utility construction work when needed

Read maps, project diagrams, and basic construction drawings to support project work

Operate vehicles, trailers, and equipment as certified and assist with equipment set‑up when required

Complete required pre‑trip inspections and driver logs as necessary

Perform general physical activities including lifting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and working in various outdoor conditions

Follow all company safety procedures, adhere to NESC guidelines, and maintain a safe work environment on every job site

Travel within a 75‑mile radius of the reporting yard with occasional overnight stays as required

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience with concrete form setting, finishing, curbs, structural concrete, or paving preferred

Strong commitment to daily safety practices

Proven ability to deliver high‑quality work in a construction environment

Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, schematics, and project documentation

Knowledge of applicable city, county, and state construction codes and clearance requirements a plus

Comfortable performing physically demanding work including lifting up to 70 lbs

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume construction environment

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work well with field crews and equipment operators

Must have reliable transportation to report to the yard daily; company vehicles may be provided for job site travel

Ability to travel within a 75‑mile radius with possible overnight stays

Must provide a valid government‑issued photo ID for verification; a driver's license is required if the role involves driving

Class A CDL (commercial driver's license) preferred

Passing of all pre‑employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
