Salary
$35.10 - $39.60 per hour.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance services in accordance with accepted standards for Dayton Freight Lines.
Use diesel engine diagnostic programs and other troubleshooting techniques.
Diagnose, repair, and replace external engine components.
Test and repair entire truck chassis electrical systems.
Develop proficiency in repair of all major power and drive train components.
Effectively and efficiently perform PM inspections and services per DFL policy and time standards.
Repair, adjust, and align suspension and brake systems.
Maintain tire maintenance program per DFL policy.
Perform service calls per DFL guidelines or individual location guidelines.
Wash and fuel equipment when necessary.
Perform vehicle road tests to ensure quality repair service, if qualified.
Perform other maintenance duties or assignments as necessary.
Maintain a positive attitude and interact courteously and professionally with fellow employees.
Contribute to the care and upkeep of the shop, grounds, and equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe environment complying with OSHA and company standards.
Record all work and labor on a computer in the EMS system.
Work with the Parts Department to ensure necessary materials, parts, and supplies are maintained at proper levels.
Comply with all Parts Department procedures and rules at all times.
Continuously improve processes.
Qualifications
Possess a valid Driver's License.
Basic math skills.
Fluent in English.
Able to pass a drug screen.
Physical Demands
This position requires routine physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repair in a Service Center and Shop environment, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, lifting, and using hand and power tools. Work may be performed independently or in team settings as appropriate.
