Job Summary
Cresco Labs is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our corporate finance team in Chicago, IL. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in reporting and reconciliation of accounting functions, including analysis of financial statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Assist with month‑end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation.

Support audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to internal and external auditor inquiries.

Assist with the continuous improvement of processes and procedures as company expands into new and established markets.

Prepare and maintain prepaid asset accounting records including prepaid capitalization, amortization, monthly journal entries, schedules and roll forwards.

Prepare and maintain capital lease accounting records including amortization schedules, reassessments/adjustments, new/terminated lease analysis, tenant improvement allowance (TIA) activity, monthly journal entries, and various other lease deliverables.

Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (including cash accounts) and investigate reconciling items to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Conduct fluctuation and variance analysis across balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify trends and resolve discrepancies.

Ensure accuracy, completeness, and strong attention to detail across accounting records and supporting schedules.

Complete ad‑hoc analyses and special projects as assigned to support corporate accounting and leadership reporting needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

2 years accounting experience (public accounting or relevant corporate accounting experience preferred)

Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks

Experience with financial accounting systems (Intacct helpful)

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required

Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner

Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and respond to ad‑hoc requests.

Pay Range
$70,000 - $80,000 USD
