
Maintenance/On-Call Laborer

Overview
USU Housing Maintenance Laborer is responsible for assisting in replacing hot water heaters, changing out furnace filters, light bulbs, smoke alarm batteries, turning over apartments, and some plumbing issues in residence halls. Duties may include working overtime and some weekends while performing off-site on-call functions.
Responsibilities
Use of basic hand tools.
Change out light bulbs.
Unplug toilets and drains.
Move/maintain fridges and stoves.
Assist in replacing hot water heaters.
Assist in changing furnace filters.
Assist in changing smoke alarm batteries.
Assist in changing batteries in door locks.
Assist in turnovers of apartments.
Assist in some plumbing problems.
Assist working rotating off-site on-call shifts for maintenance emergencies.
Qualifications
Valid driver's license required in order to perform job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting equipment.
18 years or older required to operate equipment.
