Position
Mobile Diesel Technician Level II
Duties
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, using test instruments like handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and determine accurate information using sound judgment.
Manage parts inventory and equipment on company‑issued service truck; perform periodic reconciliation.
Maintain and operate the service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
Communicate effectively with clients, assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
Document work in compliance with company standards, uploading pictures and details on Repair Orders via the TRAIT app.
Complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely manner.
Work independently and manage own daily schedule.
Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times.
Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary.
Communicate with management and support via email or phone for repair estimates, purchase orders, and repair findings.
Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience; alternatively, a degree/certification beyond high school plus at least 5 years of related experience.
Ability to supply necessary hand tools.
Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
Must complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical or provide a DOT medical card with more than four months remaining.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license; must maintain a Driver Qualification File and safe driving record.
Required Certifications
ASE T8 (PMI) certification (must be obtained within 18 months).

Compensation
Hourly base pay: $32.07 – $48.13 per hour. Pay may vary by location and candidate qualifications. Position may include commission and incentive programs.

Employees receive a minimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off each month and seven paid holidays annually. Additional paid time off is available for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
