Operator I

Position Purpose
Operates and maintains sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under direct supervision.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Keep work area neat and clean.
Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling.
Log and record process readings.
Perform unit rounds.
Assist in facility equipment preventative maintenance.
Assist in general maintenance of facility equipment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring & control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.
To achieve competency of Operator I, perform hands‑on training and demonstrate knowledge in: Basic hand tools; Basic mechanics; Lubricants and lubrication; General housekeeping; Bearings; Pumps; Piping systems.
Required Certifications & Training
Industrial Basic Plus orientation
Site specific training
40 Hr HAZWOPER
PSM training
Annual safety modules
Standard operating procedures
Facility safety plans & programs
LOTO
MSA/JSA training
Short Service Employee training (behavior based)
CIAB VNA computer based training
