Job Overview
Troubleshoot and resolve issues from employee laptop/desktop computers and peripherals.
Ensure customer issues/tickets are resolved in a timely manner using Service Now.
Assist end users with packaged software and basic support of critical applications.
Install software and track licenses/support.
Provide hardware support to end users (laptop, desktop, accessories, printers, copiers, telephones) and collaborate with Corporate IT on purchasing and asset management.
Requirements
3+ years of desktop support experience.
Experience with mainframe issues, mainly implementations.
Experience assessing service tickets in Service Now and escalating them to the Network Infrastructure Team (Cisco apps, core issues, AD issues beyond password changes) and willingness to own the ticket after escalation.
VMware experience (a plus).
Preferred Skills and Experience
Basic knowledge of computer functions and support (basic troubleshooting skills).
Windows 10 and Office 365 on desktops.
Assistance with mainframe implementations.
Assessing and escalating Service Now tickets to the Network Infrastructure Team with ownership.
VMware experience in a server environment (20–25 servers) (plus).
Minimum
3 years of desktop support work experience.
Industrial work environment experience.
Proficiency in MS OS and regular packaged software.
Essential networking and server skills.
Education & Degrees
Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or Management.
Desired Attributes
Easy‑going and laid back.
Adaptable to schedule changes and go with the flow.
Eager to learn.
Understanding that an 8‑5 job may require after‑hours emergencies.
Comfortable in a steel manufacturing environment (dirty, loud, hot).
Customer Service minded – help desk experience a plus.
Ready to jump on tasks and meet internal clients in person.
Problem‑solving skills – drive to find solutions.
Location & Compensation
Jackson, TN 38305. Must work onsite only. Salary: $24–27 per hour (up to $30 for the perfect candidate). Working 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday. 6‑month contract with potential extension.
