Role Overview
The Project Leader is responsible for leading 3–5 concurrent automotive engineering projects, ensuring delivery aligned with timeline, quality, and customer requirements. This role requires strong experience in OEM/Tier‑1 product development, cross‑functional coordination, and technical leadership across the full vehicle development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical interface for customers and internal stakeholders
Support client meetings and maintain regular onsite presence as needed
Track and communicate project status, risks, and delivery milestones
Project & Technical Leadership
Lead end‑to‑end engineering execution across vehicle programs
Manage technical scope, timelines, deliverables, and quality targets
Ensure compliance with OEM standards and program requirements
Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and change management
Support project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
Lead and mentor cross‑functional engineering teams
Define roles, assign tasks, and monitor performance
Assess technical capabilities and support team skill development
Collaborate with leadership to align project delivery with business goals
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related)
5+ years of experience in automotive engineering and project leadership
Strong experience in vehicle development programs (OEM or Tier‑1)
Hands‑on experience in systems engineering, requirements management, or product development
Experience working in North American automotive programs preferred
Core Skills
Strong understanding of automotive product development lifecycle (APQP, V‑cycle, etc.)
Proven ability to manage scope, cost, schedule, and quality
Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
Michigan‑based role with onsite collaboration and occasional travel to customer locations
