Purpose and Function
The purpose of the electrical foreman is to oversee electrical system installation by providing guidance, direction and oversight to a crew operating at the job site.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels are requested for the daily required tasks to be completed.
Deploy personnel as necessary and in the best interest of the existing workflow on a daily basis.
Ensure special equipment needs are requested.
Interpret job drawings to facilitate installation of electrical systems.
Establish material lists and ensure adequate material is ordered and on site to accommodate daily workflow.
Establish weekly benchmark objectives toward completion of the job.
Ensure project benchmarks are achieved and the job schedule is maintained.
May attend project meetings and communicate information to PM and field supervisor.
Maintain familiarity with the plans, schedule and expectations for the job.
Aide and oversee safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
Promote an emphasis on creating a team‑oriented, positive work environment that fosters safety and open communication.
Communicate job progress and needs to PM.
Maintain oversight of job status and communicate anticipated problems.
Ensure inspections are scheduled and completed.
Education, Training and Experience
Experience completing project installation of electrical systems in the commercial electrical industry.
Experience coordinating multiple tasks and functions while supervising assigned personnel.
Experience with trade inspections and interacting with various jurisdictions and inspectors.
Associated trade certifications are beneficial but not required.
Physical and Other Requirements
Ability to sit, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, climb, crawl and squat as required by the job.
