This accountant will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day financial operations, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role will support business decision‑making by maintaining strong financial controls and analyzing financial data.

My client is an international retail company with a global footprint, operating across multiple markets and regions. They offer a diverse portfolio of products and manage complex, high‑volume operations to support their worldwide customer base.
Description
Prepare and post journal entries, including allocations and accruals.
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate classification and recording of transactions.
Review and analyze general ledger activity and complete balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accrued expenses.
Process intercompany transactions and perform related reconciliations.
Manage fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
Reconcile corporate credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
Prepare and file multi‑state sales tax returns.
Analyze expense accounts and support the monthly close process.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and accelerate the close cycle.
Assist with external audits and contribute to ad hoc projects as needed.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a retail and/or multi‑entity environment
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP with solid general ledger accounting experience
Hands‑on experience with SAP
Familiarity with multi‑state sales tax compliance and filings
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Highly detail‑oriented, analytical, and motivated to take ownership and drive results
