The
Math Instructor
performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject areas.
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging math instruction that helps students improve standardized test performance
Integrate project-based learning to connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and confidence
Provide mentorship and recognize student achievements to encourage a growth mindset
Maintain academic integrity during instruction and testing
Track and record daily student attendance accurately
Monitor, document, and communicate student performance, progress, and concerns
Ensure the classroom remains clean, organized, and conducive to learning
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the academic program
Requirements:
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree with a Standard or Initial teaching license in the State of Iowa.
Preferred:
Minimum plus one year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of required subject area, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational skills, must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification, ability to motivate and inspire students, ability to effectively relate to student population.
