We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and people-focused
Managing Veterinarian (MDVM) to lead our medical team at
Adobe Animal Hospital
. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about clinical excellence, mentorship, and building a strong, positive hospital culture while continuing to practice high-quality medicine in a hospital setting that provides GP, Urgent Care, and ER services.
Adobe Animal Hospital has proudly served our community since 1964 and is a trusted name for Bay Area pet owners. We operate two hospitals in
Los Altos and Los Gatos
, providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for small animals and exotic species. Our Los Altos hospital—recognized with a merit award for hospital design—features 18 exam rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, 3 surgical suites, a 3-station dental suite, and a large, well-equipped ICU.
As Managing DVM, you will work closely with hospital leadership to support medical standards, team development, and operational success while maintaining a hands-on clinical role.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($200,000–$250,000+ based on experience) with generous production & leadership bonuses

Provide medical leadership and oversight to ensure high standards of patient care
Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for associate veterinarians and support staff
Maintain and elevate medical protocols, quality standards, and best practices
Partner with hospital management on staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization
Support associate development through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
Continue practicing clinical medicine and surgery as part of your role
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an accredited veterinary school
Strong leadership experience relevant to directing multiple departments in Emergency, ICU, and GP settings.
Commitment to high-quality medicine and continuous improvement
Proficiency with veterinary medical software and electronic medical records
Adaptability in a dynamic hospital environment
