Clearance:Active DoD Secret Clearance
Work Schedule:Full-time, on-site Monday - Friday.
Role Overview:
The Configuration Management Specialist III supports the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of security measures, IT asset tracking, and configuration management activities across enterprise communication systems and networks. This role ensures compliance with government security standards, supports the development and execution of SACM processes, and maintains accurate records across the CMDB/CMS and asset inventories.
General Skillset
Experience with Microsoft Office

Ability to work both collaboratively and individually
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed
Specific Skillset
Implement and monitor security measures for communication systems and networks, ensuring alignment with established security standards and Government requirements
Support the creation of SACM processes, activities, and procedures, including CI registration, access controls, and privilege management.
Ensure roles and responsibilities are defined clearly within SACM plans and procedures.
Assist with IT asset procurement as needed.
Work with SACM stakeholders to tag, track, and maintain location and ownership data for all IT assets.
Receive, document, and coordinate delivery of IT assets; support setup and teardown activities.
Recommend and validate naming conventions for uniquely identified Configuration Items in coordination with the SACM Manager.
Ensure developers and configuration system users comply with identification and configuration management standards.
Collaborate with the Configuration Librarian to populate and maintain the CMS.
Perform configuration audits to validate consistency between physical inventory and the CMDB/CMS; initiate corrective actions through Change Control.
Accept baselined products from third-party vendors for distribution.
Build system baselines for release and maintain configuration status accounting records, and reports.
Assist the SACM Manager in defining and generating SACM reports.
Maintain and reconcile databases that track licenses, warranties, and service agreements for hardware and software assets.

Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or GED
Experience Requirements
Five years of relevant experience with at least four (4) years of experience using Department of Defense logistics and asset management systems (e.g., Remedy, DPAS, GCSS-MC)
