Strategic Project Manager

Herndon, VA.

The Strategic Project Manager will leverage their strong background in portfolio management to support senior leadership in the coordination and strategic alignment of multiple complex projects. You will directly support the Chief and branch management, ensuring all initiatives align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value across the broader portfolio.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing direct oversight and management for two operational branches while working closely with the customer
Managing projects at a portfolio level, focusing on high-level strategic alignment rather than daily project execution
Collaborating with stakeholders to connect individual project outcomes to broader organizational objectives and mission success
Producing concise and actionable executive briefings that drive decision-making, including updates on timelines and risks
Engaging with leadership and internal teams to prioritize resources and resolve challenges across the portfolio
Building and maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of workflows
Ensuring portfolio performance meets all requirements and aligns with long-term strategic goals

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
7+ years of experience in project or portfolio management
Experience managing large-scale portfolios and understanding the interdependencies between projects
Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership through the creation of professional briefings
Experience with building and maintaining productive relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
Experience managing resources and timelines within frameworks such as Agile or PMBOK
Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail regarding strategic alignment

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in government contracting environments with familiarity in federal regulations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data to drive informed decision-making
Proficiency in project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project or JIRA
Excellent leadership abilities and experience collaborating across diverse departments and teams

Clearance Requirements:
An active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
