Job Description
2nd Shift
Provide instruction and guidance to employees and audit work processes and products to confirm production specifications are met.
Maintain positive and effective relationships with employees. Direct employees to the appropriate manager regarding policy questions.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standard, policies and procedures. Report any problems, potential problems, hazardous situations to management
Inspect products and/or shipments to verify conformance to specifications
Review and approve machine set ups, production samples, and/or shipments as necessary
Identify and report opportunities for continual improvement
When necessary, attend production meetings and/or confer with other departments to coordinate production activities
Coordinate or perform training for new employees, contract workers, and/or guests to ensure safety, quality, and production requirements are understood.
Ensure the “Quality Policy and Objectives” are understood and achieved
Quality
Monitors quality counseling guidelines to ensure shift managers are current with any positive counseling as needed.
Follows inspection checklist and records any identified defects.
Follow established quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure produce meets quality conformance specified by the customer.
Perform visual inspection of printed materials for defects, such as loose, torn, or wrinkled pages, missing staples, incorrect bindings, printing defects, etc.
Perform “samples” selection and package for shipment.
Identify potential issues and involve department Lead and/or management to determine an appropriate solution.
May assist with disposition of defective or non-conforming product.
Work closely with the Sales Rep and CSR on any customer issues.

Handle any customer complaints
Issue credit on bad product, credit and rebill job that has been billed wrong.
Issue call tags on product that need to be inspected to determine if there is an issue with the finished product.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred
2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job
Must have proficient knowledge of technology including computers and software programs such as MS Office, MAC word processing, spreadsheets, or other programs specific to the job in order to complete job duties successfully
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments
Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift in excess of 50 pounds
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues
Additional Information
RRD's current hourly range for this role is $22.00 to $33.00. The hourly range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based on, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
