Responsibilities
Coordinate medical staff services functions for an assigned group of MercyOne hospitals and affiliated critical access hospitals.
Ensure credentialing and privileging compliance with all relevant regulations, including medical staff bylaws, Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, and state and federal regulations.
Maintain the credentialing database with accurate and current provider information.
Collect appropriate privileging documentation and facilitate required education such as sedation testing.
Prepare files and route them to appropriate clinical leaders for credentials review and approval.
Provide administrative support and guidance to medical staff leadership, committees, and departments.
Maintain a collaborative relationship with the health system credentials verification organization (CVO).
Education & Experience
Minimum of 1 year in a medical staff services or credentialing role.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate’s degree preferred.
Certification: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred.
