Job Summary
This position is responsible for identifying, engaging, and recruiting prospective students to the university. This position provides details about the university, including history, location, size, academic programs, costs, athletics, student life, student support services, and housing. This position generates excitement for the university and provides guidance throughout the admissions process. The incumbent may be directed to perform job‑related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description.

NOTE : In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visas.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a database of guidance/career counselors, high school administrators, alumni and other entities in support of recruitment initiatives.

Establish a strategy for the assigned area.

Provide real‑time, comprehensive information about the university to prospective students.

Lead recruiting efforts in visits, events and presentations to students in assigned area.

Validate that all interactions with prospective students are inputted into SLATE (CRM).

Make follow‑up personal, telephone, and letter contacts to prospective students, and arrange visits of prospective students to the campus.

Coordinate with the various academic units.

Assist in collecting data, compiling reports, conducting research and in planning relative to achieving recruitment goals.

Assist in preparing and deploying critical information via multiple mediums to support the student recruitment.

Assist in evaluating transcripts of all students.

Render admissions decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Present information in a clear and concise manner while consistently being well‑groomed.

Travel frequently to various locations that includes some overnight and weekends.

Perform other duties that are assigned by the Assistant Director for Recruitment.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field.

One (1) year of experience in student services, or related public contract work at the University level.

Experience in utilizing BANNER.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must maintain a professional demeanor with respect to clothing, personal hygiene and appearance.

Must be able to lift objects up to 15 pounds.

Proposed Salary
The proposed salary for this position is $42,500.00 annually.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position.

Knowledge of counseling and guidance techniques in student recruitment.

Skilled in the use of small office equipment, including copy machines or multi‑line telephone systems.

Skilled in effective verbal and written communication and presenting to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.

Ability to learn department policies and procedures.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and an orientation toward customer service.

Ability to maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others including but not limited to parents, students, faculty, staff, and outside referral agencies.

Ability to cooperate with fellow employees as a team member.
