About Us
Savannah State University, established in 1890, is the first public historically black college or university in the state of Georgia and the first institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. The university offers majors from five colleges: Business Administration, Education, Engineering and Computing, Media, Arts, and Communication, and Science and Humanities. Job Summary
We seek an individual with a passion for teaching in business administration, focusing on Management, General Business, and related areas. Candidates with significant, high‑level business experience are particularly encouraged. The College of Business includes a Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and a Human Cognition Laboratory. The selected candidate will teach both face‑to‑face and online and will engage students in classroom and extracurricular activities. Responsibilities also include curriculum development, student advising, and retention efforts, with opportunities for summer teaching.

Responsibilities

Teach management courses covering data analytics, statistics, and related business topics.

Hold a non‑tenure track, full‑time teaching position on a 10‑month contract.

Engage in face‑to‑face and online teaching with a regular campus schedule.

Teach 24 credit hours per contract year, with summer teaching opportunities available.

Assist in collecting assessment data for SACSCOC and AACSB accreditations; achieve appropriate student‑learning outcomes.

Employ sound pedagogical practices and appropriate technology in teaching.

Adhere to deadlines and processes for submitting grades.

Provide academic advising and office hours for students.

Participate in course revisions, curriculum, and program development as assigned.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to advance the program.

Attend department, college, and university meetings.

Attend convocations, commencement, recruitment, community activities, and support student success through events and clubs.

Required Qualifications

Minimum requirement: Master’s Degree in Management or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited university, plus at least 5 years of recent, high‑level business experience.

Minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

Proposed Salary
The proposed salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
