Leidos has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an Application Specialist at the DOE Portsmouth (Piketon, Ohio) site. The position will be part of an IT team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, configuration management and troubleshooting of commercial off‑the‑shelf software applications and approved custom developed applications to support business requirements

Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain software applications to meet business requirements.
Provide support for commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) software applications.
Provide support for complex issues related to software tools, applications, databases and system access.
Interface with software vendors to analyze, implement or resolve issues with software applications.
Recommend software solutions to meet end user and business needs.
Support Cyber Security compliance and audit/assessment preparations.
Consult with business organizations to identify needs/requirements.
Develop and maintain documentation, user manuals, guides and technical information associated with software applications.
Support recommendations and plans for software development, operations and procurements.
Apply software updates and patches.
Perform work according to Software Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Remediate Cyber Security vulnerabilities within required timeframes.
Identify and resolve software issues.
Build and foster good working relationships with coworkers, customers and visitors.
Close work orders with detailed resolution and in a timely manner.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years of experience, or five years additional experience to substitute for the degree.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Experience with the implementation, operation and maintenance of COTS software.
Strong attention to detail with organization and time management skills.
Must have exceptional analytical and technical problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to work successfully both independently and collaboratively.
Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and during interactions with fellow employees and customers.
Experience working in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
High level of discretion handling sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications
DOE site experience.
Active DOE clearance.
Related industry‑recognized certifications.
Software development experience.
Database experience.
Pay Range:
$57,850.00 - $104,575.00
