Position Overview
Dade Electric Service is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing electrical contracting business. This role will oversee core accounting functions, including financial reporting, job costing, and construction-related financial management. The Senior Accountant will work closely with company leadership, project managers, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support sound business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
Perform month-end and year-end close processes
Monitor job costing and project profitability
Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
Support progress billing and retainage tracking
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards
Assist with annual audits and tax preparation
Support financial reporting and internal control improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience
Experience with construction or contractor accounting preferred
Knowledge of job costing and project-based accounting
Strong Excel and accounting software proficiency
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
