Finance Manager

Manage the accounting function for our Netherlands‑based business entities, including integrating newly acquired entities as part of a rapidly growing, private equity‑owned specialized transportation and logistics group headquartered in the United States. This position will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer for the International businesses (CFO International) and the central ICAT finance team to ensure accuracy and integrity across all accounting processes for business operations.

The Country Finance Manager will oversee budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and drive improvements in financial systems and processes. The role will be instrumental in financial closings, audits, tax compliance, budgeting, and internal controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting and Reporting

Conduct and oversee the day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and consolidated reporting under US GAAP

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements including variance analysis

Collaborate with subsidiary teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining consistency across global operations

Oversee monthly invoicing and billing processes

Perform special projects and analysis assigned by CFO International

Assist with audits by preparing the required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries

Cash Flow Management & Forecasting

Monitor company‑wide cash balances on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investments

Collaborate with Treasury to manage and oversee cash flow forecasting, providing accurate short‑term and long‑term cash flow projections to senior management

Work with the CFO International and support the Treasury function to optimize cash management and funding strategies across operations

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Business Planning

Work with the CFO to support the financial input to business planning in the Netherlands and development of the annual budget, periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational plans

Partner with the leadership team to provide financial insight that supports strategic and commercial decision‑making

Internal Controls & Standard Operating Procedures

Evaluate and enhance internal financial controls as needed

Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for the accounting department to improve efficiency and consistency in accounting operations

Manage the finance integration in the Netherlands to support the implementation of a centralized shared service center for finance

Tax Coordination

Support corporate tax compliance functions including local and statutory reporting, transfer pricing, and international tax reporting requirements

Lead, and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance

Guide the team in accounting standards and tax compliance. Encourage cross‑functional collaboration to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Perform other duties, as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and Professional financial qualification, such as Chartered Accountant

7+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting

2+ years of leading others

Proven experience in establishing standardized accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures

Extensive experience with cash flow forecasting and cash balance monitoring

Proficiency with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP), Cargowise and other ERP systems; experience with ERP implementations is highly desirable

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and international accounting standards

Experience working with private equity firms and understanding their reporting requirements and processes

Experience with external auditors, tax advisors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities

Familiarity with the transportation and logistics industry is a plus

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision and accountability of staff

Support team in setting and achieving goals and performance objectives

Coach and mentor team members

Identify department training requirements and conduct training, as needed

Hold regular individual 1x1 and team meetings

Clearly communicate department and individual initiatives/goals

Develop, monitor, and review regularly metrics and goals with team members

Conduct performance appraisals; provide rewards and execute disciplinary actions/workplace solutions for department staff

Accountable for recruiting and hiring process for new hire requirements

Maintain an environment that allows the team to be part of ICAT’s overarching goals and mission
