Role
The CAS Financial Data Analyst role is for someone who likes to dig into messy data and figure out whats actually going on. Enjoys being asked questions like why does this look off or can we understand this better. Is comfortable doing both hands-on reporting work and deeper analysis. Wants to learn the business side (finance/operations) and not just build reports in isolation. You'll work closely with our finance and HR team and leadership to:
Responsibilities

Build and improve reporting.
Do deeper dives when something does not add up.
Help figure out what we should be tracking - not just what we already are.
Pull data from multiple systems and figure out how it fits together.
Build and refine reports and dashboards (Tableau or similar).
Answer ad hoc questions, some quick, some complex.
Get asked questions that do not have clean answers - and work through them.
Spot inconsistencies or trends and dig deeper to explain them.
Partner with finance to understand how budgets and operations actually work.
Do some routine reporting while building toward more advanced analysis.
Qualifications

Minimum education: Master's and 2-4 years' experience; or Bachelor's and 3-5 years' experience; or a combination of related education and experience.
Experience extracting, manipulating, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting large complex data sets.
In-depth experience in a business intelligence reporting environment (Tableau preferred, SAS VA, OBIEE, Business Objects, or similar) creating complex reports and interacting with financial, HR, or other operational data sources.
Extensive knowledge of database and application systems analysis, programming, and reporting tools used in complex data environments.
Ability to solve very high- complexity problems and serve as a key resource to others.
Strong planning, organizing, and project-management skills, able to lead complex projects involving multiple staff.
Consulting experience translating market and industry trends to provide solutions for clients.
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of higher education finance and business operations.
General knowledge of academic structures and familiarity with non-financial data sources.
