Job Summary
The Dietitian works closely with the departmental and interdisciplinary health care team to provide care that is integrated and compatible with patient-centered medical goals and objectives. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses (including the assessment for malnutrition), performs nutrition-focused physical examination, interprets results, orders nutrition and diet orders, designs and implements nutrition care plans, and monitors and evaluates outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients who are at nutrition risk or malnourished. Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients, families and the community.

Responsibilities
The Dietitian will: assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses, perform nutrition-focused physical examinations, interpret results, order nutrition and diet interventions, design, implement, monitor and evaluate nutrition care plans for patients at risk of malnutrition, and provide medical nutrition therapy to patients, families and the community.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or related area from a U.S. regionally accredited college/university, or foreign equivalent

Completion of required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the ACEND

National CDR Registered Dietitian upon hire (Commission on Dietetic Registration)

Oregon Dietitian License within 180 days of hire

May require additional State Dietitian License within 180 days of hire

1 year of experience with current adult learning theory related to nutrition education

1 year of experience with nutrition management of multiple disease states

Only required for those entering the workforce after January 1, 2024 as a Dietitian

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of experience managing nutrition in a clinical setting

1 year of experience providing medical nutrition therapy

Compensation
Hourly rate: $33.63 – $52.22. Base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Work Schedule
Part-time, 24 hours per week, Day shift, On-site at Providence Newberg Medical Center, 1001 Providence Dr, Newberg, OR.
