Registered Nurse – Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU
The 20‑bed TCV ICU serves patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures. Nurses provide care for patients on mechanical circulatory support devices and ECMO, and support postoperative recovery.
Responsibilities
Relationship Based Care – Self and Colleagues: reflects the influence of the nurse’s relationship with self, colleagues, and patient/family on the patient experience.
Relationship Based Care – Patients and Families: reflects the influence of the nurse’s relationship with self, colleagues, and patient/family on the patient experience.
Expert Caring: clinical assessment, planning, prioritizing, coordinating, and implementation of care.
Empowered Leaders: demonstrate knowledge of and actively participate in shared governance.
Lifelong Learners: professional development through formal education, certifications, and learning opportunities; supports onboarding of new team members and precepts as applicable.
Quality Achievement: adherence to clinical documentation guidelines, comprehension of outcomes data, engagement in performance improvement activities, and commitment to standard work.
Innovation: application of technologies that support patient care and implementation of evidence‑based practice and nursing research.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure/Certifications: Licensed RN in Virginia; AHA BLS required.
Physical Demands
Standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending/stooping, lift/push/pull 20‑50 lbs. Requires proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; legible writing. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
Compensation
Starting base rate $39.90 per hour; additional compensation based on qualifications, experience, and education.
