The Westbrook School Department is seeking a Building Nurse at Congin School for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
About The Position
The Building Nurse plays a critical role in supporting a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. Serving as the school's primary health professional, the nurse provides direct care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, and management of chronic health conditions.
Responsibilities:
Administer medications, maintain accurate health records, develop and monitor Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs), and support student accommodations as needed.
Promote overall school health by monitoring communicable illnesses, ensuring compliance with immunization requirements, conducting health screenings, and responding to medical emergencies.
Maintain a safe and welcoming health office.
Collaborate with staff, families, and healthcare providers, serving as a key liaison between home and school.
Qualifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse.
Strong clinical judgment.
Excellent communication skills.
Commitment to student-centered care.
Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred.
