Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Preferred language skills:
Korean, Mandarin, or Vietnamese
Required vaccinations:
MMR, Varicella, TB, Hep B (declinable), color vision required
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection while supporting daily lab operations, troubleshooting issues, assisting with training, and recommending workflow improvements.
Background & Context
This is a new opening within a Primary Care IOP setting. There is potential for extension or full-time conversion based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and processing
Collect and store specimens per established protocols
Clearly explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures to patients
Demonstrate proficiency with straight needles and butterfly needles
Review and understand physician orders and lab requisitions
Match requisition forms with specimen tubes accurately
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
Verify test requisitions and ensure 100% accuracy
Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity
Store specimens at appropriate temperatures
Follow OSHA and DEP regulations
Attend required training sessions
Handle incoming calls and respond to lab-related inquiries
Perform phlebotomy duties independently in a Primary Care IOP setting
Qualifications & Experience
Valid Phlebotomy Certification (if required by state)
Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
2-4 years of overall experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Skills
Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills (including difficult draws)
Ability to work independently
Customer service and patient interaction skills
Flexibility and adaptability
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Majority of shift spent standing (1-hour lunch break)
Medium-sized Primary Care IOP settingSole Phlebotomist onsite
Initial 2-week training at: 10700 Medlock Bridge Rd, Suite 207, Johns Creek, GA 30097
Additional Information
Full-time: 40 hours/week
Patient population: Adults & Geriatrics (frequent hard sticks)
Daily volume: To be determined (new site)
