About This Job
Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Concert Drive/Bayside Road)
Department: Production & Logistics
Schedule: Full-Time, Numerous Shifts
Clinical Status: Clinical
Important: You will be required to sit, stand, bend, walk and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift; as well as wear personal protective equipment to include: surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles and caps.
How You’ll Make An Impact
As a Processing Technician, you’ll play a vital role in advancing our mission. You will perform all aspects of processing, preservation and storage of tissues in an FDA regulated environment, working in a team under aseptic conditions while executing controlled production processes. You will perform quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. The role’s complexity varies based on physical demands, knowledge of human anatomy, number of graft lines or product families processed, complexity of processes, number and types of equipment operated, degree of manual dexterity and fine motor skills required, and other special needs.
These roles are critical to LifeNet Health’s mission because they are the essential step of transforming donor gifts into lifesaving allografts for patients worldwide.

What You’ll Do
Tissue Processing: Review work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production. Work with production supervisors to adjust plans as needed. Perform all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols. Assist the supervisory team in production improvement initiatives.
Packaging: Perform all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols.
Documentation & Data Entry: Document all processes and functions performed in accordance with all procedures and protocols.
Decontamination: Perform post‑processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Requirements:
High School or GED required
Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
Zero to two years of work experience required
Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications
Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferred
One (1) year experience in Tissue Processing, Tissue Recovery, Manufacturing, Operations, or as a Surgical Technician
Two (2) years’ experience working in a non‑clerical, fast‑paced, hands‑on setting
Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness
Convey information verbally and in writing
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, computer software, and databases
Learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product lines
Prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
Work collaboratively in a team environment
Technical skills (preferred), general knowledge of anatomy, use surgical instrumentation and equipment
