Your Mission:
The Welder I is an entry‑level role focused on learning and performing basic welding tasks under close supervision. This position is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components using established techniques and procedures. Work is guided by instructions and pre‑established guidelines with limited independent judgment.

Explore the Depth of the Role:

Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding processes.

Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine correct welding methods.

Set welding machine parameters with guidance from supervisors.

Inspect completed welds for structural soundness and adherence to specifications.

Apply basic knowledge of Flux‑Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).

Demonstrate a basic understanding of Oxy‑Fuel Cutting, Carbon Arc Cutting, and Plasma Arc Cutting.

Use hand tools such as grinders, tape measures, chipping hammers, and personal protective equipment effectively.

Maintain safe work practices and follow company safety standards.

Requirements
Mission Readiness:

High school diploma or equivalent may be required.

Technical training in welding preferred.

Less than 1 year of welding experience or equivalent.

May require completion of an apprenticeship or formal training in area of specialty.

Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.

May lift or carry 50 lbs. Weights exceeding 50 lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
