Job Summary
The University of Colorado College of Nursing seeks a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) / Certified Midwife (CM) / Instructor / Senior Instructor / Assistant Professor to join the Clinical Practice Track (Open Rank). This 1.0 FTE, benefits‑eligible position is based at the Center for Midwifery (CFM) faculty practice in Aurora, CO on the Anschutz Medical Campus. It is a clinically based role that includes full‑scope care—antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well‑woman, and gynecological services—within a health‑care provider setting and an instructor‑level, clinical practice track faculty appointment.
Faculty Practice Description
The Center for Midwifery is a private practice model that provides holistic, person‑centered care. Services include individualized care, alternative labor/birth options, childbirth education, lactation services, mental health services, water birth, and referrals to specialized care. The practice offers full‑scope midwifery care to patients at two locations, with births occurring at the University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The midwife will participate in an established midwifery service with a long history of successful care within the University of Colorado system.

– Work is performed independently under the general direction and authority of the CFM Clinical Lead.

Responsibilities
Provide full‑scope care to the gynecologic, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient.
Provide care in the outpatient clinic, OBED, and intrapartum unit.
Utilize limited obstetric ultrasound skills in the outpatient and inpatient setting.
Attend monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of one practice and/or College of Nursing committees.
Educate health‑care team students (APPs, medical students, residents) and actively participate in student evaluations.
Provide water birth option to low‑risk patients.
Participate in practice development, promotion, and community outreach.
Active participation in health plan contracts.
Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Instructor
Master's degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education.
Current AMCB certification.
Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license.
Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA – must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
Senior Instructor
Master's degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education.
Current AMCB certification.
Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license.
Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA – must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.

Assistant Professor
Master's degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education.
Doctoral degree in nursing, midwifery, an appropriate area of science, or a related area from an accredited institution of higher education.
Current AMCB certification.
Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license.
Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA – must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.

$102,249 – $117,587 annually at Instructor of Clinical Practice/CNM.
$103,272 – $118,762 annually at Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice/CNM.
$104,294 – $119,938 annually at Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice/CNM.
