Job Description
As a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic for the Army National Guard you’ll ensure that anything that moves on wheels is ready to hit the road. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop.
Responsibilities
Inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, adjust, and replace systems and components on wheeled vehicles.
Perform recovery operations and service electrical systems, including wiring harnesses and charging systems.
Maintain wheeled vehicle trailers and material handling equipment systems.
Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, starting and charging systems.
Skills & Qualifications
Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
Interest in automotive engines and their operation.
Training
Earn while you learn. You will receive 10 weeks of Basic Training, covering basic Soldiering skills, followed by 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) which includes classroom and field training.

Requirements
