American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pre‑Op/PACU position at a Critical Access Hospital in rural Vermont. The assignment starts on
May 25, 2026
and lasts
13 weeks , with 40
hours per week
across
8‑hour
day shifts.
Responsibilities
Work in the Pre‑Op and PACU departments of a 25‑bed Critical Access Hospital.
Provide nursing care during anesthesia recovery and perioperative phases.
Serve as an on‑call presence for the unit.
Attend department quarterly education sessions.
Requirements
Active Vermont (VT) or Compact RN license.
Current certifications: BLS/BCLS, PALS, ACLS.
Minimum 5 years of RN experience, with experience in perioperative, Pre‑Op, and/or PACU nursing.
Ability to work day shift, 5 days a week, 8‑hour shifts.
On‑call availability as required.
Additional Information
The facility is located in Newport, VT, a small town on the Canadian border in the Northeast Kingdom region.
Personal transportation is strongly recommended; public transportation is not available.
The area offers outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling, with Jay Peak and Burke Mountain ski resorts nearby.
