Position
Recreation Therapist (RT), CF – part‑time 20 hours per week at Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) in Coalinga, Fresno County.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs for patients within California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institutions.
Instruct and motivate patients in individual and group recreation therapy.
Monitor and document treatment progress.
Work with other health care providers to share recreational therapy assessment information and incorporate therapeutic recreational activities into treatment plans.
Maintain order and supervise the conduct of patients to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.
Salary and Benefits
Monthly part‑time salary: $4,579.50 – $4,951.50.
Potential $10,000 one‑time recruitment and retention stipend (if eligible).
Potential monthly recruitment and retention differential totaling $5,000 during first year (if eligible).
Potential $5,000 referral bonus for CDCR/CCHCS employees (if eligible).
Additional Information
Effective July 1, 2025, part‑time employees are subject to the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which includes a 3% base salary reduction and 5 leave credits per month through June 2027.
