Grant Thornton Advisors LLC is seeking an **Employment Paralegal Associate** to join its in‑house legal team in Chicago, IL. The role provides comprehensive support to employment attorneys and the legal department in litigation, compliance, and contract review.

Responsibilities

Provide litigation support: collect, review, and prepare documents for discovery.

Conduct legal research on labor and employment laws, regulations, and case law; provide analysis and recommendations for compliance.

Collaborate with HR and internal teams to ensure compliance with employment‑related laws and regulations.

Review vendor contracts related to employment and benefits.

Manage and maintain legal files and documents; provide regular analysis and reporting on metrics and trends.

Monitor case deadlines and maintain accurate calendar tracking.

Support employee‑related investigations, including attending witness interviews and preparing notes or summaries.

Draft and review employee handbook policies and procedures for compliance.

Assist in preparing cease & desist letters, employment contracts, and agreements.

Communicate with external parties such as government agencies and outside counsel.

Participate in training program development for employees on labor and employment topics.

Assist with administrative tasks: create presentations, schedule meetings, manage calendars, and organize documents.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Collaborate with other paralegals and legal assistants to ensure efficient workflow across legal areas.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3+ years recent experience as an employment paralegal in a law firm or in‑house setting.

Associate or Bachelor’s degree.

Paralegal certification preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with legal research tools, document management software, case management databases, reporting software, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Experience with Microsoft Copilot or other AI‑productivity tools.

Strong attention to detail and organizational priorities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment and to multitask.

Ability to work in‑person/on‑site at least 3 times per week.

Ability to travel as needed.

Salary
Base salary range: $75,000 – $85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
