Job Overview
This position supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll for W2 Common Law and Statutory employees as well as 1099 recipients, while helping administer payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and accuracy. The role also assists with implementing tax changes from governing authorities and strengthens payroll operations through consistent adherence to established controls and processes. This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home.
Responsibilities
Prepare, support, analyze, and audit payments for W2 Common Law and Statutory employees and designated categories of 1099 recipients.
Prepare, validate, load, and enter batch and key payroll data into the payroll system to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data and reports before, during, and after payroll runs; identify discrepancies and resolve errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
Support payroll accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and review of payroll-related balances for accuracy and compliance.
Process, analyze, and apply payroll taxes, deductions, liens, and garnishments in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate payroll processing and timely issue resolution.
Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated payroll concerns and discrepancies, providing guidance and resolution to internal stakeholders.
Maintain complete and accurate payroll documentation in accordance with internal standard operating procedures, internal controls, and audit checkpoints.
Review and audit employee-level payroll fields and configurations to ensure proper setup, compliance, and accurate pay outcomes.
Assist with payroll corrections, adjustments, and retroactive changes to employee payment records to ensure accurate employee and employer filings.
Administer, maintain, and support the Time and Labor Management System, ensuring data integrity, proper configurations, and accurate downstream payroll processing.
Qualifications
2-4 years of payroll-related experience.
