Low Voltage Technician – Traveling Role
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Low Voltage Technicians to support service and special installation projects across industrial, retail, and commercial environments. This role is hands‑on and travel‑intensive, working with structured cabling, CCTV, AV systems, and related low‑voltage infrastructure.
This position is ideal for self‑motivated and reliable technicians who can work independently, troubleshoot issues in the field, and see projects through to completion. We offer long‑term employment for technicians who take pride in their work and are comfortable working in fast‑paced, multi‑site environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling systems (Cat5/Cat6, fiber, coax)
Perform conduit installation, cable dressing, and termination in IDF/MDF cabinets
Install and configure CCTV systems, paging systems, AV equipment, and network devices
Lead small teams on multi‑week projects while maintaining safety, quality, and schedules
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site plans
Operate BOOM and/or scissor lifts and work at heights of 40+ feet
Perform system testing and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in low‑voltage cabling, industrial installations, or AV systems
Strong understanding of cabling infrastructure, fiber termination, and AV integration
Experience with Crestron, AMX, DSP programming, and audio calibration is a plus
Industry certifications such as BICSI, OSHA, MSHA, AVIXA CTS, Panduit, Belden, or Corning are highly desirable
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the past 3 years)
Reliable transportation
Must provide basic telecom tools and PPE
Comfortable working independently and leading small teams
Willingness to travel extensively (4–6 weeks at a time) and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
