Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a Law Clerk I to support sensitive cases with the Constitutional and Specialized Tort Litigation section of the DOJ Civil Division. The position works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal and/or Project Manager, primarily performing general litigation support work. Duties include document review, legal research, drafting findings, preparing draft legal documents, and assisting attorneys throughout all litigation phases. The role may work independently or as part of a team on larger projects.
Responsibilities

Draft findings and contribute to the preparation of legal documents.
Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation.
Work independently and as part of a team on larger projects.
Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization; U.S. citizenship is required for MRPT credentials at this location.
Law degree required.
Sound knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and resources.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency with LEXIS and Westlaw.
Hands‑on familiarity with document review, file‑management and spreadsheet applications.
Experience with ESI tools, eDiscovery procedures and resources, including Relativity.
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits
This is an hourly, overtime‑eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act. In addition to a base hourly rate, employees may be eligible for an additional health and welfare payment for each hour worked, ensuring compliance with the act’s minimums. The amount varies based on the fringe benefits selected.

Hourly rate: $38.77. Compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable laws.
