Job Summary
KXII 12 seeks an experienced, dynamic anchor to lead the market’s long‑standing #1 morning newscast.
Duties / Responsibilities
Anchor weekday morning newscast from 5–9 AM and midday newscast from 12:00–12:30 PM
Copy‑edit and occasionally write scripts for morning and midday newscasts
Help produce midday newscast and serve as fill‑in anchor as needed
Demonstrate strong live‑reporting skills for field anchoring and breaking news
Post digital content (news stories, interview segments, social media, etc.), especially breaking news before 8 AM
Appear at various community events that may occur outside normal shift
Serve as mentor and teacher to young reporters and producers
Qualifications / Requirements
Prior anchoring and on‑air reporting experience preferred
The right candidate will anchor every type of story, book and perform live in‑studio interviews, help produce the morning and midday newscasts, write great copy, edit video, and occasionally anchor or report from the field
Strong writing and information‑gathering skills, quick thinking, and strong ad‑lib abilities
College degree in a related field preferred
Good driving record, valid driver's license, and commitment to a drug‑free workplace policy
