Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled
School-Based Therapist
to provide mental health services to students within a school setting. This role focuses on supporting marginalized youth through trauma-informed care, with an emphasis on
Trauma-Focused interventions and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) .
The ideal candidate is committed to social justice, understands the complexities impacting underserved populations, and is passionate about helping young people build emotional regulation, resilience, and healthy coping strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group therapy to students within the school setting
Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain clinical documentation
Implement trauma-focused therapeutic interventions and DBT-informed strategies
Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to support student success
Participate in case consultations and supervision as needed
Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with Ohio licensing board requirements
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related mental health field
Active licensure in the State of Ohio (LPC, LPCC, LSW, or LISW); LPC preferred
Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly marginalized or underserved populations
Training or experience in
Trauma-Focused Therapy and/or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a school environment
Must have active liability insurance policy 1 mill/3 mill. minimum.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in school-based mental health services
Cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations
Knowledge of systemic barriers impacting youth (e.g., community violence, poverty, foster care involvement)
Compensation & Schedule
Competitive hourly rate (based on experience and licensure)
Flexible part-time schedule aligned with school hours
