Description
Department: Welding
Summary:
Accurately welds quality products according to engineer’s print directions and shop order requests. Follows policies and procedures while preserving the product’s integrity and quality.
Primary Duties
Set up welder according to job requirements
Read weld symbols
Follow safety procedures
Keep accurate product counts
Read prints and weld per print directions
Weld in multiple positions
Use measuring tools accurately
Operate hoist or crane following correct procedures
Complete jobs on a timely basis
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience in welding and ability to produce quality welds
Safety‑minded
Attention to detail and high quality standards
Compliance with ISO 9000 policies
Team player able to work effectively with others
Good interpersonal, verbal communication, and active listening skills
Occasional lifting of 50 pounds and pushing/pulling of 100 pounds
Physical Requirements
Standing on concrete – 100% of the time
Lifting items
Lifting items 35‑50 lbs – occasional
Twisting or turning – highly repetitive
Bending or squatting – highly repetitive
Pinch grip – highly repetitive
Hands above shoulders – rare
This is a table welding position. Areas may be exposed to high heat and ultraviolet light. Wrist and hand usage is above normal. Overhead cranes are present for many areas above 50 lbs. Vibrating tools such as a grinder are heavily used. Flying debris poses a greater risk in these areas.
Responsibilities
The Robot Welder is responsible for accurately welding quality products according to engineering specifications and shop orders. This includes setting up the welder, reading weld symbols, and ensuring product integrity and quality.
