HVAC Technician - Buckley SFB

Position Overview
The Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a maintenance technician to work Tuesday through Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Buckley Space Force Base. The role involves preventative maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems and assistance to a journeyman in the repair, maintenance, and installation of HVAC and related systems.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems.

Assist with installing, modifying, and repairing the following equipment:

Low pressure steam boilers

Hot water boilers

Pumps

Forced air heating units and ventilating systems

Air conditioning units, including hermetic, semi-hermetic, absorption, cooling towers, and other open-type equipment

Refrigeration equipment, including walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers

Assist with all electrical work on heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

Assist with the installation of new wiring on control circuits, pneumatic control systems, direct digital controls, and temperature and humidity controls.

Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, manufacturer specifications, and technical orders.

Assist other work units such as grounds and pavement, electrical, custodial, etc.

Occasionally travel to the Air National Guard base in Greeley as needed.

Qualifications

Three years of progressively responsible professional experience in heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC).

Must hold a valid Colorado CFC license (include copy with application).

Must possess a current and valid Colorado Driver's License at the time of application.

Must pass a background investigation.

Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

Must obtain a security clearance within six months of hire.

Must be willing to work overtime and/or on-call as needed.
