
Mechanical Process Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to help modernize legacy tube mill equipment, improve efficiency, and lead capital and automation projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a production environment, enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges, and wants visible impact inside a tight-knit, long-tenured plant team.
What You’ll Do
As the Engineer, you will strategically drive mill optimization, production efficiency, and safety while partnering closely with plant leadership, maintenance, production, and quality teams.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field
3–8 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience (steel or metals preferred)
Experience with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, GE/Fanuc preferred)
Strong project management experience in capital equipment or automation projects
Comfort working with legacy manufacturing equipment (tube mills date back decades)
Experience in steel tubing or roll-to-roll forming processes
Knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes, motors, and control systems
Key Focus Areas
Maximize mill speed, throughput, uptime, and scrap reduction
Improve tooling changeovers and eliminate bottlenecks
Align machine scheduling with customer requirements
Lead equipment installations and capital improvementsDirect removal and installation of new or upgraded equipment
Develop CAD drawings and process documentation
Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
Diagnose machine failures and drive corrective action
Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams
Support PLC programming and equipment implementation
Conduct cost-benefit analyses for tooling and automation investments
