Overview
We are a privately owned, two‑doctor veterinary practice in the Arlington neighborhood of Jacksonville. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our skilled vetmed team.
Compensation
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (salary may depend on skills and qualifications). Employment type: Full Time (Part time considered).

Schedule
Full‑Time: Monday‑Friday 7:30 am‑6:00 pm, Saturdays 9:00 am‑2:00 pm (Part‑time negotiable). 8‑9 hour shift options.
Responsibilities
Assist with animal restraint using low‑stress techniques.
Perform clerical duties and maintain hospital setup.
Assist technicians and doctors with miscellaneous duties.
Clean hospital and kennel areas.
Familiarize with heartworm/flea preventions and vaccines.
Support the team and maintain a positive workplace attitude.
Qualifications
1‑3 years Veterinary Assistant or kennel technician experience.
Basic kennel experience acceptable for candidates with limited experience.
Highly organized and able to perform clerical duties.
Practical knowledge of hospital setup and medical terminology.
Physically able to assist in cleaning hospital and kennels.
Familiar with most heartworm/flea preventions and vaccines.
Experience
Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (Preferred).
